We offer shuttles to the following Frio River crossings:
Magers Crossing on County Road 350
Seven Bluffs Crossing on County Road 348 "River Road"
Kenneth Arthur or Frio Country Crossing on County Road 348 "River Road"
Neals' Crossing on Highway 127
What Josh recommends:
Tubing: The best runs for tubing are:
Seven Bluffs Crossing to Kenneth Arthur "Frio Country" Crossing: +/-3 hours (tube times vary on water level, please call for the latest tubing times)
Kenneth Arthur "Frio Country" to Neal's Crossing: on a tube +/-4 hours (tube times vary on water level, please call for the latest tubing times)
Both tubing runs combined will take you ± 7 hours, in order to do this run you must be at the Concan location between 9:00-10:00. This is the longest float option available. Bring plenty of water and sunscreen.
Kayaking:
All of our kayaks come equipped with a life jacket and paddle.
We suggest Magers to Seven Bluffs to kayakers because it is a nice stretch of the River that is not highly trafficked by tubers. It is also a great spot to go fishing! (You don't have to worry about this portion of the Frio River being as busy as other runs of the Frio River.
Magers to Seven Bluffs on a kayak: +/-3 hours (kayak times vary on water level, please call for the latest kayaking times)
7 bluffs to Neal's is also a nice run for kayakers we would suggest this run on weekdays or during morning hours on weekends when tubers are not crowding the water.
7 bluffs to Neal's on a kayak: +/-3 hours (kayak times vary on water level, please call for the latest kayaking times)
Note: We do not recommend canoeing the Frio River some areas are too narrow to maneuver a canoe or are too rough and it may be hard to keep from tipping over.
Please keep in mind any estimated time we give you can vary from greatly from group to group depending on floating experience.
Please note we close at 7:00. Our last pickup is at 6:30 and it is your responsibility to be at the crossing you are supposed to be picked up at before 6:30 to ensure you get a shuttle back to your vehicle before we close. When we close at 7:00 we lock our gate and in turn your vehicle will also be locked in overnight. If we do happen to have a driver available after hours to pick you up you will be charged $50 per person to be picked up.
Please note, we do not offer lockers. Your vehicle may serve as your locker. You do have the option of leaving your vehicle keys with us for free to be picked up upon the return from your float trip. Please not you must be back at the store before we close at 7:00. |
